Boston--On Saturday, March 11, protesters gathered at the JFK Library in Boston to protest the appearance of war criminals Henry Kissinger and General Alexander Haig.
A two-day conference was held at the JFK Library next to University of Massachusetts on the Vietnam war. Featured speakers included Henry Kissinger(secretary of state under Richard Nixon) and General Alexander Haig(one of Nixon's generals who waged the Vietnam war). About 30 spirited protesters gathered across from the library at 10am to protest the appearance of these 2 war criminals. |

Kissinger was responsible for millions of deaths in Vietnam, the overthrow of socialist president Allende in Chile on Sept. 11, 1973, as well as massacres in East Timor. In fact, there are warrants out for Kissinger's arrest in some countries, so Henry K has to be cautious where he travels. General Haig was under Nixon during the Vietnam war in which 4 million S.E. Asians were killed by the U.S. Protesters shouted anti-Kissinger and anti-war chants over a loud megaphone. Library security attempted to get protesters to move further away, but security was unsuccessful in their attempt. The Boston Stop the Wars Coalition as well as the International Socialist Organization were some of the organizers of the protest, and Food Not Bombs provided bread and muffins. |

boooo, to the jfk library. media passes were limited to the corporate media. the coverage of the event was minimal. perhaps they didn't want folks to know what 'camelot' was really about:-( |
