Conley of Boston IMC Presents on Alive In Baghdad |

On February 27, Brian Conley, a documentary filmmaker with the Alive In Baghdad project, spoke at an assembly of the Cambridge School of Weston, a small private high school in Weston, MA. The presentation included video footage that was filmed while Conley was in Iraq and Jordan in October and November of 2005, as well as a question and answer session afterwards. Students and teachers were curious about Conley’s experience as well as his opinions about the current situation in Iraq. He plans to return to Iraq to continue the documentary in the coming months. |

The focus of the project is allowing Iraqis to speak for themselves rather than the typical approach of the press, which is for U.S. journalists to tell the people of the United States what is happening. The presentation was organized by the Anarchist Social Club at the Cambridge School of Weston. The Anarchist Social Club is part of the larger Free Youth Network (www.freeyouth.net). Over $160 was raised to help fund the Alive In Baghdad project. This event was part of Operation: Over, the nonviolent direct action anti-war campaign happening in and around Boston this spring.
