Spirited Protest at Israeli Consulate |

Nearly 50 protesters gathered at 20 Park Plaza, home of the Israeli consulate, to protest the recent murder of a Palestinian woman by Israeli police, and Israel's genocidal occupation of Palestine. Nearly 50 protesters gathered at 20 Park Plaza, home of the Israeli consulate, to protest the recent murder of a Palestinian woman by Israeli police, and Israel's genocidal occupation of Palestine. The protest was organized by members of Boston Food Not Bombs and Israel's Anarchists Against the Wall.
Jawaher Abu Rahma was slain by Israeli police at a December protest against the apartheid separation wall in the village of Bil'in in the occupied West Bank. After inhaling large amounts of Israeli police's particularly toxic brand of tear gas, she died at Ramallah hospital. Her brother, Bassam Abu Rahma, was also murdered two years ago at a protest by police who shot him in the face with a tear gas canister.
Protesters held signs, flags, candles, and pictures of the slain Palestinians as alight snow began to fall. Silent at first, the vigil became more raucous as more protesters arrived. Finally the protest marched to Park Street station, chanting slogans the whole way.
Soup was served by Boston Food Not Bombs. Police presence was minimal, with one paddy wagon and a patrol car turning up only after the protest started. Police did not follow the march to Park Street. |

Looks like a clear case of a mass sundowning syndrome (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundowning_(dementia) - increase of agitation and abnormal behavior in evening hours), with all these loonies coming out after sun down on Friday (Shabbat) nonetheless, entertaining an empty street at the closed Israeli Consulate.
